Coping with the Holidays, December 5th
ABT has people who have gone through grief and they are here to help you. There is no charge, you are not made to talk or feel uncomfortable. They care and have helped many people through the grieving process. Grief is the emotional suffering and sorrow caused by the death of a loved one. It quite possibly is the hardest thing you will ever go through. How long will it last? Everyone wants to know. Everyone is different. Every grief is different. Right now your life is out of balance. Your inner emotions are damaged. Like a three legged stool with one leg broken, you are out of balance. Your personal life, work life, relationships with family and friends and God are out of balance. Broken. They will take time to heal.
Just as there are symptoms of physical injury, there are symptoms of grief such as shock, denial, anger, guilt, “what-ifs”, depression, fear, and loneliness. Physically you may be mentally exhausted from lack of sleep, become confrontational and quite possibly distracted while running machinery or driving. It is helpful to know you are not going crazy, you are just suffering normal grief. In the beginning simplify life, don’t expect too much of yourself. Take special care of yourself. Allow yourself time to heal. It takes at least a year to go thru holidays, special days, and the date of the death.
God is always with you. He is your God and friend. Lean on Him, He is your stronghold (Psalm9:9). He is the healer (Psalm147:3). He will send people to comfort you (II Corinthians 7:5-7). Coming to the Understanding Grief Class can help you become balanced again. When you understand the symptoms to a problem, then you can define the cause. When you understand what is causing your specific problems, then you can start doing something about it.CLICK HERE TO JOIN
